Fishing at the Berwickshire Coast

Whether you are looking to fish at sea or at a peaceful loch, the Berwickshire Coast has the perfect backdrop for your trip as well as a great variety of fish.

Sea Angling

Try fishing at sea with Aquamarine Charters or St Abbs Diving.  Fishing gear available for hire with weights, rigs and bait available to purchase on the day. Largely, fishing takes place inshore due to this area having the largest variety of species including cod, wrasse, coalfish, pollack, ling and mackerel. Inshore you are also more likely to see dolphins, seals, and minke whales in the forefront of the stunning Berwickshire coastline. Boats leave from both Eyemouth and St Abbs.

Fly Fishing at Coldingham Loch

Stay at Coldingham Loch Fly Fishery & Holiday Cottages to catch an array of trout, brown, blue or rainbow. The 22 acre loch is one of the oldest established trout fisheries in Scotland. With 10 boats available and a mile and a third of bank fishing, Coldingham Loch is a great area for fishing as it also has an extended season from March to November. The loch is regularly stock with top quality trout averaging more than 2lbs for Blue and Rainbow Trout and 1lbs for Brown Trout. It is the only Eutrophic loch in Scottish Borders (naturally nutrient rich loch) making it a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). There are six lodges with the loch area for hire.
