Join the Berwickshire Marine Reserve ranger on a walk along the coastal path from Eyemouth to Killidraughts, a more remote beach. We will clean a 100m stretch of beach surveying the marine litter we find along the way.
The data volunteers have collected over the last 26 years has helped make some of the most significant impacts on beach litter ever – the plastic bag charge, microplastics banned in personal care products, better wet wipe labelling, and massive support for a tax on ‘on the go’ plastic single use items.
But it’s not job done. We need to gather more and more data to wage war on other types of beach litter, and you can help. In association with the Marine Conservation Society.
No experience necessary. If you have your own litter pickers and gloves please bring them along. Bring warm, waterproof clothing. Meet outside the Eyemouth Leisure Centre.
